Dickson Returns to CACC Weekly Honor Roll

New Haven, Conn. - (1/18/2016) – A week after collecting his first mention on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Basketball Weekly Report, Chestnut Hill College  senior guard Luke Dickson (Pitman, N.J.) returns to the Honor Roll. The Griffins floor general averaged 20.5 points-per-game (PPG) and 3.5 rebounds-per-game (RPG) while recording seven assists and three steals in a 1-1 week against league rivals Nyack College and the University of the Sciences (USciences).

Continuing an exchange of wins and losses that began back on December 16 with an 81-69 CACC victory at Wilmington University, Chestnut Hill College matched that very final in Tuesday night's 81-69 triumph over Nyack College. Evening their conference record at 4-4, four Griffins finished in double figures with Dickson leading the quartet on a 25-point effort. He was 9-of-14 (.643) from the floor, 4-of-7 (.571) from three-point range, and 3-of-4 (.750) from the free throw line in his third straight 20-point performance. He added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals to the scoring.

On Saturday, January 16, in their final contest before the start of the spring semester, Chestnut Hill College traveled down the 76 for an afternoon CACC contest at USciences. The Griffins managed a 37-35 halftime lead, overcoming seven turnovers and the Devils' free throw advantage (19-of-24, .792) behind 11 bench points from freshman guard Liban Awl (Manassas, Va.). Unfortunately, USciences outplayed the Griffins in the second half with senior forward Wes Kerr (Avalon, N.J.) catching fire from long range (4-of-6, .667) while sophomore forward Will Gregorits (Burke, Va.) and senior guard Sho Da-Silva (Moorestown, N.J.) controlled the Devil offense with a pair of double-double efforts. Dickson led Chestnut Hill College with 16 points, leaving him four points shy of 1,000 for his collegiate career. He also grabbed four rebounds and offered five assists while recording one steal.

Chestnut Hill College continues their CACC schedule next Saturday, January 23, when they visit Bloomfield College for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
