Ndiaye Shares CACC Rookie of the Week Title
 
New Haven, CT – (1/18/2011) – A third start for freshman forward Khadim Ndiaye (Long Beach, NY) meant a third double-double as the Griffin rookie continues to produce with minutes. Against the University of the Sciences (USIP) on Tuesday, January 11, Ndiaye’s 17 points and 11 rebounds led the Griffins to a 81-74 victory over the Devils; their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory of the season. For his effort, he was recognized as the CACC Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 16.
 
After breaking out for a 35-15 lead, Chestnut Hill College (4-9, 1-4) held the Devils at bay until the final five minutes of the affair. A USIP run cut the deficit to single digits, but the Griffins made the necessary buckets and foul shots to survive the rally for their first CACC victory of the season. Ndiaye was the Griffins top performer hitting 6-of-9 (66.7%) from the field and 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the free throw line for his 17 points. His 11 rebounds was a season-high on the glass. Ndiaye is averaging 9.3 points-per-game and 5.3 rebounds-per-game this season with a 56.7% (38-of-67) field goal percentage and a 68.4% (26-of-38) success rate from the free throw line.
