Wireman and Scimone Selected to ECC Women’s Bowling Weekly Honor Roll
West Babylon, N.Y. - (2/8/2018) – Chestnut Hill College (24-32) went 2-3 at last Saturday’s Bowling for a KUre event at Douglassville, Pennsylvania’s Jay Lanes. Freshman Kristina Scimone (Gibbsboro, N.J.) and junior Kara Wireman (Telford, Pa.) garnered East Coast Conference (ECC) Women’s Bowling Weekly Honor Roll recognition for their contributions to the Griffin effort.
The Griffins defeated St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) by an 890-429 final in game one of Kutztown University’s Bowling for A KUre Event. Game two had the Griffins up against Molloy College. They fell short of the Lions by a 1,407-985 margin, but Scimone led the team with a 226 game. In game three, the Griffins defeated St. Francis College - Brooklyn 848-825. Later in the afternoon, Chestnut Hill College bowled two 10-game Baker matches versus Wilmington University and Kutztown University. The Wildcats defeated the Griffins 1,810-1,714 and the Golden Bears defeated the Griffins 1,776-1,685.
Overall, Chestnut Hill College was led by Wireman, who ended the day with a 17.98 pins per frame average. Scimone who averaged 17.94 pins per frame.
The Chestnut Hill College women’s bowling team will be back in action at Berks Lanes this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, on February 9-11 at Kutztown University’s Golden Bear Classic.
