Byxbee Returns to CACC Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

New Haven, Conn. – (10/2/2018) – Producing 28 points in a 1-1 week that included a 3-1 3-1 (25-17, 25-13, 17-25, 25-21) win at Post University, junior outside hitter Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll recognition on a second straight league report. Byxbee totaled 25 kills, two aces, and two block assists to total her team-high 28 points for the week. She also recorded three assists and 16 digs.

Chestnut Hill College (5-11, 3-5) visited Jefferson (12-7, 7-1) for Friday, September 28, night's CACC match, which unfortunately concluded in the home team's favor, 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-20). Bxybee led Chestnut Hill College with 11 kills, while classmate middle hitter Cassie Callahan (St. Louis, Mo.) and sophomore outside hitter Corrine Kalala (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) offered seven kills each. Byxbee's 11 (11K-5E-32TA) kills were accompanied by one assist, 10 digs, and two block assists, securing her sixth double-double performance of the season.

Feeding off of 41 assists from senior setter Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.), Chestnut Hill College enjoyed their best performance of the season as a .343 (51K-16E-102TA) team hitting percentage precipitated a 3-1 (25-17, 25-13, 17-25, 25-21) CACC triumph at Post University on Saturday, September 29. Callahan, Byxbee, and freshman right side Lauren Lipinski (Gilbert, Ariz.) each scored double digit kills, but the last of the three also spotted six of the Griffins’ 17 aces. Callahan and Byxbee each finished the match with 16 points; the former recorded 15 kills, an assist, three digs, and a solo block, while the latter offered 14 kills, two assists, two aces, and six digs.

Chestnut Hill College returns to Sorgenti Arena on Wednesday, October 3, when they host Georgian Court University in a 7:00 p.m. match.
