Hilton Head, SC – (3/12/2010) – After waiting out all the rain, the Chestnut Hill College men's tennis team concluded competition at the Hilton Head Golf and Tennis Resort with an afternoon match against Misericordia University. The Griffins swept the match 9-0 to even their record at 3-3 as they return home for the remainder of their spring schedule. 

Freshmen, Joe Boyle (Doylestown, Pa.) and Pat Joson (Old Bridge, N.J.) set the tone for the match in the top doubles flight with an 8-1 win. Sophomore Julius Twyman (Coatesville, Pa.) and junior Carson Richter (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) teamed for an 8-3 win at number two doubles, while sophomores David Negron (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Adrian Avena (Vineland, N.J.) scored an 8-1 at number three doubles. 

Chestnut Hill College (3-3) carried their momentum over to singles play, sweeping the Cougars for the shutout. Joson grabbed his first win at number one singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Fred Hockenbury (Dallas, Pa.) 

The men's tennis team next visits La Salle University for a 3:30 p.m. match on Tuesday, March 16.
