Philadelphia, PA – (3/20/2010) – Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) set the tone early with a sweep of doubles play. They carried their momentum to singles play for a 9-0 win over Chestnut Hill College this afternoon.

Chestnut Hill College (2-14) dropped the top two, doubles matches by scores of 8-1 and with an 8-0 victory at number three doubles, IUP (9-4) carried a 3-0 lead into individual play. Senior Brittany Parker (Lancaster, PA) had the best chance at a point for the Griffins. She forced a tiebreaker in her second set, but eventually lost 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) to senior Laura Kale (Myerstown, PA) in number six singles.

The women's tennis team will continue their spring schedule with a 12:00 p.m. match at Queens College on Friday, March 26.
