Philadelphia, PA – (1/11/2011) – Chestnut Hill College owned a 23-22 halftime advantage, but with a 52.6% (10-of-19) second-half shooting performance the University of the Sciences ran away with a 65-50 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory. Senior center Cecelia Herald (Gaithersburg, MD) came off the bench to lead the Griffins with 15 points and six rebounds.
After an opening basket from the University of the Sciences (8-4, 4-2), three straight Griffin three-pointers gave Chestnut Hill College (3-10, 1-5) the initial 9-2 lead. The remainder of the first half was neck-and-neck with the Griffins securing a narrow, 23-22, lead at the break. Herald highlighted the second half with 11 points, but with a 25.9% (7-of-27) team shooting percentage the Griffins fell prey to the more efficient Devils. A senior trio powered the Devils from the backcourt. Caitlin Shaw (Eatontown, NJ) led with 20 points (6-of-11, 54.5%), seven rebounds, and three steals. Colleen Christian (Warrington, PA) recorded 15 points and Alyssa Hamm (Sharon Hill, PA) provided 12 points, a block, and three steals.

Junior forward Ebony Washington (Philadelphia, PA) handled the Griffin grunt work totaling 15 rebounds, a block, and a steal.
