Philadelphia, PA – (2/9/2011) – Chestnut Hill College remained within five, 49-44, of Goldey-Beacom College until the final stretch of this evening's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest, but behind junior guard Jacinda Jones (Claymont, DE) the Lightning separated for a ten-point victory, 72-62. Senior center Cecelia Herald (Gaithersburg, MD) paced the Griffins with 18 points.

After trailing 30-29 at halftime, Chestnut Hill College (6-16, 4-11) grabbed a brief second-half lead on the shooting of senior guard Jessica Pruiti (Old Bridge, NJ). Goldey-Beacom College (11-10, 9-5) scored the opening bucket of the period, but five straight points from Pruiti brought the Griffins to a two-point advantage, 34-32, with 17:29 still to play. The lead held until 14:53 when a three-pointer from senior guard Janae Weldon (Trenton, NJ) gave the advantage back to the visitors for good, 39-38. From there Jones led the Lightning to victory, scoring 14 of her game-high 26 points down the stretch. She also grabbed eight rebounds to help sophomore guard Devonne Richardson (Baltimore, MD) on the glass. Richardson led the Lightning with 12 rebounds while also dishing out eight assists. Weldon and sophomore forward Irene Hudson (Syracuse, NY) each finished with 14 points.

Herald was 7-of-8 (87.5%) from the field and 4-of-5 (80.0%) from the free throw line while also fronting the Griffins defensive effort with two blocks and a steal. Sophomore forward Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, PA) came off the bench for 12 points while Pruiti finished with eight points and six assists.
