Kutztown, PA – (4/11/2011) – Senior midfielder Jillian Sanger (Bowmansville, PA) located sophomore attack Christina Squillante (Kings Park, NY) for the first goal of today's contest at Kutztown University. But it was all Golden Bears from there, as Kutztown University owned an 11-1 at halftime advantage, before beating Chestnut Hill College 17-2. Sanger scored the Griffins second goal with an unassisted effort.
Just 1:14 into the affair, Chestnut Hill College (4-7) was on the scoreboard with Squillante's opening strike, 1-0. The tally was answered 1:33 later (27:13), when sophomore midfielder Kelsey Hogan (Mt. Laurel, NJ) scored the first of her three goals, 1-1. Four Golden Bears would finish with three goals, Moran, and junior attack Lauren Pica (Levittown, PA) each provided an assist as well. Freshman goalkeeper JoAnn McLaughlin (Cape May, NJ) made 11 saves and recovered a ground ball in the win (5-7).
Sanger, Squillante, and sophomore midfielder Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, PA) were the core of the Griffin effort. Sanger added three ground balls to her two points while Squillante recorded two ground balls to go with her score. Alexander totaled three ground balls and four draw controls. Junior goalkeeper Jenn Delahanty (Staten Island, NY) made eight saves in the loss (1-6)
The women's lacrosse team resumes their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Wednesday, April 13, with a 3:00 p.m. game at Wilmington University.
