Box Score Lincoln University, PA – (9/6/2011) – The Chestnut Hill College is off to their best start in recent history after improving to 3-1 with a 3-0 (25-6, 25-17, 25-9) sweep at Lincoln University this evening. The Griffins defeated the Lions for the second time this season, this time they were led by sophomore setter
Ali Eberly (Orwigsburg, PA) who totaled five assists and 12 aces.
Eberly was on-point with her serve all evening, leading Chestnut Hill College (3-1) to 22 aces and their third win of the season. Her performance was supported by a balanced Griffins attack, which was highlighted by eight kills from junior middle hitter
Cassie Benson (Rosamond, CA) and six kills, four aces, and five digs from sophomore outside hitter
Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA). Junior setter
Courtney Gallo (Wilmington, DE) pitched in with five assists and three aces. Eberly's 12 aces were the most in a single game since Jen Toth's performance against Hood College on September 27, 2003.
The women's volleyball team returns to campus on Wednesday, September 7, for their home opener; a 7:00 p.m. match against Georgian Court University.
