Box Score Rutherford, NJ – (1/28/2012) – A double-double performance from junior forward Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, PA) was not enough for Chestnut Hill College to overcome Felician College's offensive-defensive combination of senior guard Destiny Barette (Paterson, NJ) and junior forward Que Lyles (Bronx, NY). Mired by poor shooting, 13-of-60 (21.7%) the Griffins had trouble keeping pace with their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival's superior second half performance (17-of-32, 53.1%).

Felician College (11-7, 8-3) opened with a 12-1 run, leaving the home team to an 11-point advantage just over five minutes (14:37) into the contest. In response, a rebound focused Chestnut Hill College (4-14, 3-8), led by senior center Ebony Washington (Philadelphia, PA) and Alexander, brought the margin to five points, 16-11, just past the six-minute mark (5:47). Play remained close from there to halftime with the Griffins making a late push to set the deficit at four points heading to intermission, 23-19. Following intermission the affair remained close until Barette began to take over. Scoring 18 of her 25 points in the second half, she helped the Golden Falcons extend the deficit to as many as 23, 62-39, as the contest entered the final minutes of play (2:08). On the defensive end, 11 blocks from Lyles only added to the Griffins shooting problems, while carrying the Golden Falcons to a 19-point victory.

Barette was 11-of-21 (52.4%) from the floor, including three baskets from long range (3-of-7, 42.9%). She also recorded five rebounds, a block, and two steals in the contest. Lyles paired six points and nine rebounds with her double-digit blocks.

Alexander totaled 13 points and 13 rebounds in her first double-double performance of the season. She also contributed four blocks and an assist. Washington finished the contest with eight rebounds and two points.

The women's basketball team continues their CACC schedule with a 6:00 p.m. contest at the University of the Sciences on Wednesday, February 1.
