Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – (12/19/2012) – In a local Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) affair, senior guard Devonne Richardson (Baltimore, Md.) was the engine for Goldey-Beacom College as the Lighting scored a 66-52 win over Chestnut Hill College. Richardson paired with fellow senior guard Jacinda Jones (Claymont, Del.) to deliver the Lightning a 34-21 halftime lead. That deficit should as game's determining factor as senior forward
Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) helped the Griffins keep pace in the second half.
Richardson ignited Goldey-Beacom College (8-6, 5-1) from the start, completing a three-point play to negate Alexander's initial bucket, 3-2 (17:58), and registering ten points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the opening frame. Chestnut Hill College (1-10, 0-5) fell behind the Lightning by as many as 17 points, 29-12 (5:24), in the first half, but the Griffins narrowed the margin to 13 points by the break, 34-21, thanks to the aggressive play of sophomore forward

Olivia Gorczynski (Parlin N.J.) following intermission, as the Griffins ended a 9-3 run on an Alexander layup that left the home team down 37-30 with 16:45 left to play. The deficit remained at eight points, 46-38, with 11:03 to go, but the Griffins would get no closer. Senior forward Irene Hudson (Syracuse, N.Y.) reestablished the Lightning lead at 17 points, 59-42, six minutes later (4:58) and just before the final horn a flurry of points from Alexander left the final spread at 14, 66-52.
Richardson led the Lightning and all scorers with 24 points. She added nine rebounds, five assists, and five steals to her game-high scoring effort. Jones finished with nine points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Alexander led the Griffin effort with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Gorcyznski chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, an assist, and a steal while Farrow contributed six points and seven rebounds
The women's basketball team will play their final contest of 2012 on December 29, when they visit Mercy College for a 12:30 p.m. contest.
