Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Philadelphia, PA – (3/30/2012) – With each contest lasting a little longer than an hour, Holy Family University swept this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader by defeating Chestnut Hill College 9-0 in both five-inning contests.

Holy Family University (12-12, 6-4) scored all nine runs of the opener in the first inning while sophomore pitcher Victoria Reuscher (Cheltenham, PA) held the Griffins to three hits. The Tigers pitching held the Griffins to three hits in the second game as well, this time they plated three runs in the first inning and six runs in the third inning. In the first game, senior catcher Gina DeAnnuntis (Hammonton, NJ) had a one-out single in the second inning and junior second baseman Veronica Wilenta (Brick, NJ) led off the third inning with a single, but the Griffins did not get a runner into scoring position until Wilenta doubled in the fifth inning. Unfortunately, Reuscher shut the door on the next batter with a pop fly to second base, 9-0.

Wilenta recorded her third hit of the day leading off the fifth inning of game two. After two outs, freshman shortstop Brittany Hoban (Toms River, NJ) singled to move Wilenta into scoring position, but again Chestnut Hill College (1-11, 1-9) went silently. Sophomore Rachael Alligood (Levittown, PA) and Sarah Chilutti (Philadelphia, PA) combined to allow three hits and one walk over five innings. Senior center fielder Bianca Robinson (Erial, NJ) homered in a six-run Tiger third inning after recording her 100th career hit on her second at-bat on game one.

The softball team continues CACC play with a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader at Felician College on Saturday, March 31.
