Box Score Albany, N.Y. – (11/17/2013) – After trailing by as many as nine points, 37-28, early in the second half, Chestnut Hill College cut the College of St. Rose to one point, three times in the final six minutes. Unfortunately, the Golden Knights never let their lead slip, as they reestablished the advantage to eight by the final buzzer, 73-65, on game-high 27 points from sophomore Taylor Sayre (Garnerville, N.Y.). The Griffins were led by 17 points apiece from graduate guard
Taylor Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) and senior guard
Jakeem Bogans (Philadelphia, Pa.).
The College of St. Rose (2-2) lead by eight points at halftime, 33-25, with a slight advantage in the contest's core facets; shooting, 38.2%-36.0%, rebounds, 33-25, and turnovers, 4-8. But Chestnut Hill College (1-4) cut the Golden Knight edge to one point, 46-45, as early as 11:11 before tying the contest at 46-46 at 10:42, and retaining the slim margin with only 1:42 remaining on the game clock, 64-63. Bogans fueled the Griffins resilient effort with 14 second-half points, but in the end the rally would fall short in the end as Sayre and supportive efforts from senior center Dominykas Mikla (Ridgewood, N.Y.) and freshman guard Mical-Ryan Boyd (Hempstead, N.Y.).
Sayre was 10-of-17 (.588) from the floor and 7-of-10 (.700) at the free throw line in his 27-point scoring performance. He also grabbed nine rebounds and supplied two assists in the game. Mikla finished with a double-double, 11 points and ten rebounds, while Boyd 15 points, three rebounds, and an assist off the Golden Knight bench.
Trevisan (6-of-13 FG, 3-of-5 3PT, 2-of-3 FT) and Bogans (6-of-14, 3-of-3, 2-of-2) each hit six field goals, three from long range, and two from the free throw line in their 17-point efforts. Trevisan also collected a team-high seven rebounds. Senior center
Seamus Radtke (Philadelphia, Pa.) chipped in with ten points and three rebounds while junior forward
Filip Sekulic (Danilovgrad, Montenegro) contributed nine points, five rebounds, one assist, and two blocks.
