Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (11/26/2013) – Statistically, all signs pointed to Chestnut Hill College, but in a tight-played Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener it was Wilmington University who came out on top with a narrow 63-62 victory. Four Griffins finished in double figures with 14 points and nine rebounds from junior center

Taylor Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) gave Chestnut Hill College (1-5, 0-1) a 62-61 lead with 1:33 left to play, but it was his foul only 52 seconds later it would his foul that would afford Wilmington University (3-4, 1-0) the opportunity to win the contest from the free throw line. Senior guard Shaquille Monroe-Gaskins (Philadelphia, Pa.) knocked down the two crucial free throws to help the Wildcats regain their lead before the Griffins final possession. Unfortunately, the home team came away empty handed in their final effort, leaving the Wildcats to a one-point victory.
Senior guard Herbert Dennis (Ridgely, M.D.) led the Wildcats with 15 points while grabbing two boards, supplying four assists, and making three steals. Sophomore forward Ta'Vaune Griffin (Chester, Pa.) had a strong game as well with 12 points, nine boards, and a game-high four blocks. Sophomore guard Shai Henry (Cape May Court House, N.J.) offered 11 points, three rebounds, and a block to the Wildcat effort.
In the opening half, Radtke was the go to for the Griffins. He totaled 12 points by halftime and finished the contest with team-highs in points and rebounds. He also recorded two blocks and a steal. In the second half it was senior guard
Jakeem Bogans (Philadelphia, Pa.) who headlined the Griffin effort with eight of his 13 points coming in the closing frame. Junior center
Filip Sekulic (Danilovgrad, Montenegro) contributed with 13 points as well, while Trevisan was the fourth Griffin in doubles figures with 11 points. He also provided six rebounds and two assists.
The men's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, November 30
, when they break from CACC play to host Shippensburg University in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
