Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – (11/9/2013) – Bloomsburg University's late first half run escalated to a second-half avalanche as the visiting Huskies pulled away from Chestnut Hill College for a 97-57 victory in today's season opener. Six Huskies finished in double figures while the Griffin effort was highlighted by a game-high 19 points from junior guard

Chestnut Hill College (0-1) had trouble finding the basket after the opening tip-off, quickly falling behind Bloomsburg University (1-0), 19-10 (12:22), before junior guard
Shayla Felder (Cheltenham, Pa.) inspired the Griffins for a 15-9 stretch that left the home team down three points, 28-25, with 5:48 remaining in the period. Following a visitor timeout, senior Brianna Dudeck (Sugarloaf, Pa.) and sophomore guard Lauren Nealon (Ambler, Pa.) helped a refocus Husky effort for a 13-5 run that reestablished their advantage at 11, 41-30, by the halftime break.
Following intermission, a 7-of-30 (.233) shooting clip did not help the Griffins as Huskies expanded their advantage to 33, 74-41, before the midway point of the closing period (11:57). They would eventually grow the deficit to 40, 95-55, in the closing minutes with junior forward Nikki Tamanosky (Camp Hill, Pa.) leading the Husky reserves with 12 points.
Tamanosky was joined in double-digits by senior guard Catherine Noack (Bethlehem, Pa.), 15 points, Nealon, 13 points, sophomore forward Adreanna Sadowski (Fleetwood, Pa.), 12 points, freshman guard Morgan Klunk (Felton, Pa.), 11 points, and junior guard Jocelyn Ford (Lansing, N.Y.), 11 points. Ford was the Huskies premier player as she nearly completed a triple-double by adding nine rebounds and nine assists to her double-digit afternoon.
Gorczynski hit three from long range (3-of-9, .333) in a 6-of-14 (.429) shooting performance. She also hit 4-of-5 (.800) from the free throw line to tie her best her career best scoring performance. Senior forward
Annie Farrow (Ocean Township, N.J.) offered eight points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals, but most of it came in the Griffins first-half effort. Felder and junior guard
Tenisha Townsend-Mobley (Pleasantville, N.J.) took turns directing the Griffin offense. Each finished with nine points and three rebounds, but Townsend-Mobley rounded out her game with an additional two assists and four steals.
The women's basketball team will take their next challenge on the road when they visit Adelphi University for a 5:00 p.m. contest on Friday, November 15.
