Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – (2/16/2013) – Chestnut Hill College resumed their recent winning ways; defeating Felician College 69-60 in today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for their third victory in their last five contests. With a 48.6% (17-of-35) first-half shooting effort the Griffins mounted a 12-point, 42-30, halftime lead to keep the Golden Falcons circling. Senior forward Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) played a big part in the Griffin triumph, recording her second straight double-double performance, 17 points and 11 rebounds; and fourth of the year.

An energetic backcourt built Chestnut Hill College (5-17, 3-12) a 25-15 lead midway through the first half (10:46). Sophomore guard Lila Jones (Lansdale, Pa.) put the exclamation point on the strong start with the last five points of the opening stanza. Contrastingly, junior forward Trina Plummer (West Babylon, N.Y.) was the consistent threat in the Felician College (7-17, 7-10) response that capped the Griffin lead at 11 points twice, 36-25 at 4:17 and 38-27 at 3:06, before junior guard Jac'Quel Saunders (Trenton, N.J.) who brought the Golden Falcons within eight points, 38-30, at the two-minute mark (2:03). Only the Griffins would score in those last two minutes as sophomore guard Olivia Gorczynski (Parlin, N.J.) recorded her 15th point of the affair to put the home team up 42-30 heading to the locker rooms. After intermission, the senior guard Latoya Laing (Snellville, Ga.) quickly maxed the Griffin lead at 14 points, 44-30, which was reestablished at 8:42, 60-46, on a Gorczynski three pointer, before Saunders headlined another Golden Falcon threat that landed the visitors seven points shy, 65-58, heading to the final minute of play (1:14). Fortunately, the game clock favored the Griffins for a 69-60 victory.

Plummer split her 22 points between the two halves while totaling eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals to lead the Golden Falcons. Saunders scored 13 of her 18 bench points in the second half, while junior center Keisha Jean-Louis (Somerville, Mass.) provided six points, a team-high 14 rebounds, and the defense with three blocks.

Alexander's double-double paced the Griffins, but Gorczynski's 18 points topped the home box score. In the opening half, Gorczynski hit 6-of-9 from the field, including three from long range (3-of-6, 50.0%). Laing was the third Griffin in double figures, scoring 14 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, a block, and a steal.
