Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – (3/20/2013) – In their second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest of the season Chestnut Hill College looked to get revenge on Philadelphia University, but the Lady Rams proved better once again in a 21-4 final. Two goals from sophomore midfielder
Briana Addison (Garnet Valley, Pa.) and a renaissance performance from freshman midfielder
Emorie Keimig (Freeland, Md.) headlined the Griffin effort.
Chestnut Hill College (0-5, 0-2) interrupted the run of Philadelphia University (4-3, 2-0) goals twice in each half, as the Lady Rams outscored the Griffins 10-2 in the first half and 11-2 in the second half for a 19-goal victory. Freshman attack Liz Mower (Harleysville, Pa.) was the star of the Lady Rams offensive production, assisting sophomore attack Allison Brian (Lancaster, Pa.) on the home team's second goal at 26:56, 2-0, before scoring the Lady Rams third, 3-0 at 23:02, and fourth goals, 4-0 at 22:32, in a 9-0 opening run. Senior midfielder
Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) put the Griffins on the scoreboard at 10:27 with an unassisted tally, 9-1, but her score was answered by another Mower goal at 4:42, 10-1, before Keimig deposited the final goal of the period with 41 seconds to go, 10-2 (0:41). In the second half junior attack Emily Ray (Bedminster, N.J.) helped Mower restart the Lady Ram offense, which used a 7-0 run to grow the deficit to 17-2 with 13:32 still to play. Addison scored twice in the final 13 minutes, her first at 12:20 cut the Lady Ram lead to 17-3 and her second made the margin 19-4 with 2:20 to go, but her rallying effort would not be enough in the 21-4 loss.
Mower totaled eight points on five goals and three assists while also recording three draw controls and a caused turnover in the Lady Rams leading performance. Ray finished the affair with four goals, an assist, and a draw control. Also factoring into the offensive outburst, sophomore attack Elizabeth Marrosu (Flemington, N.J.) provided five goals and a draw control. In goal, freshman goalkeeper Felicia Branagan (Millville, N.J.) made seven saves and two ground ball recoveries in the win (3-2).
Keimig's goal, two ground balls, four draw controls, and caused turnover were supported by Addison's late scores as today's Griffin highlights. Alexander contributed four ground balls, a draw and a caused turnover to the effort while senior
Jennifer Delahanty (Staten Island, N.Y.) and freshman
Danielle Owen (Glenolden, Pa.) shared goalkeeping duties. Delahanty took the loss (0-5) with two saves and a ground ball in the opening 18:55. Owen made four saves and recovered four ground balls in the closing 41:05.
