Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (3/4/2013) – The Chestnut Hill College women's lacrosse team hosted Fort Lewis College this afternoon in a wildly competitive season opener. After rallying for a 6-6 tie at halftime, the Griffins took a 9-7 lead into the final 14 minutes. Unfortunately, the Seahawks controlled play late as they scored the contest's last three goals for a 10-9 win. Junior midfielder Ally Kvidera (Plymouth, Minn.) led the Seahawks with four goals, four ground balls, two draws and two caused turnovers, meanwhile, the Griffin effort was captained by senior midfielder
Brianne Timony (Allentown, N.J.), who offered five goals, an assist, two ground balls, three draws, and two caused turnovers.
Fort Lewis College (3-1) forced Chestnut Hill College (0-1) into an early timeout with three consecutive goals off the opening draw, but that is when the momentum shifted to the home team. Timony registered the Griffins first tally, 1-0 (19:00), and after one goal from the Seahawks, at 16:38, one goal from freshman midfielder
Emorie Keimig (Freeland, Md.), at 15:11, and two more Timony tallies (13:16 & 7:02) the score was all tied up at 4-4. Each side would score twice more before the break, leaving the halftime spread at 6-6.
Following intermission, a quick goal from sophomore attack Kylie Smith (Lone Tree, Colo.) briefly put the Seahwaks ahead, 7-6, at 17:26. But the lead was short-lived as Timony (17:09), Keimig (15:16), and senior midfielder
Erica Eaby (Lancaster, Pa.) scored three straight Griffin goals to size a 9-7 advantage with 14:23 to play. The spread remained there until the seven-minute mark (6:59), when junior attack Jessica Norby (Chaska, Minn.) scored a free position goal, 9-8, before tying the affair with an unassisted goal just 54 second later (6:05). The Seahawks won the ensuing draw, allowing them to setup for the game-winner, which came on Kvidera's fourth goal; unassisted at 4:45, 10-9.
Kvidera was supported by sophomore attack Brook Wineland (Golden, Colo.), who totaled three goals and three draw controls. Norby and Smith accounted for the other two Seahawk scores, while freshman attack Jam Vertner (Sandy, Utah) and junior defender Abby Kvidera (Plymouth, Minn.) each supplied two assists. Freshman goalkeeper Alyssa Spencer (Durango, Colo.) earned the win with 11 saves and a ground ball.
Timony's production was complimented by Keimig who offered a ground ball, two draws, and a caused turnover to her two-goal performance. Eaby added a ground ball, three draws, and caused a turnover in addition to her goal, while the final Griffin tally was registed by senior attack senior attack

Jennifer Delahanty anchor the Griffins defensive effort. Alexander recorded seven ground balls, a draw, and four caused turnovers while Delahanty (0-1) finished the affair with five saves, three ground balls, and a caused turnover.
The women's lacrosse team remains home to host Mercy College in a 4:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, March 9.
