They outscored Goldey-Beacom College (10-30, 6-18) 2-1 in the first frame and then used a walk, an error and four singles to add four runs in the third inning, 6-1, before pushing the final to 8-1 with a sixth-inning two-run, two-out single from freshman first baseman
Allie Williams (Warrenton, Va.). Rush was the silencer on the mound for the Griffins. She struck out two in her fourth win of the season (4-11).

Heaton led off the Griffin fifth inning with her second homerun of the season, spiriting a game-winning rally and proving the momentum to get the CACC sweep, 8-7.
