Box Score Shepherdstown, W.V. – (4/21/2013) – The Chestnut Hill College women's lacrosse team looked to make it two for two this weekend as they traveled to Shepherd University of this afternoon's contest. The Rams ran out to an 11-5 first-half lead, before holding off the rallying efforts of senior attack Brianne Timony (Allentown, N.J.) and freshman midfielder Emorie Keimig (Freeland, Md.), who helped the Griffins cut the margin to 16-13 by the final horn.

Shepherd University (10-6) used their home field advantage to grab the upper hand early in today's contest. Freshman attack Hunter Morris (Saverna Park, Md.) and junior midfielder Christina Ferrara (California, Md.) netted the Rams first goals at 29:28 and 28:31, respectively, 2-0, leaving Chestnut Hill College (3-12) to respond on Keimig's first goal at 22:01, 2-1. A four-goal ran run established the home team at 6-1 and they only extended before the contest reached halftime, 11-5.

After intermission, the deficit grew to eight, 13-5, before the Griffins made their push. Senior attack Christina Squillante (Kings Park, N.Y.) started the rally, scoring on a free position opportunity at 22:20, 13-6. The Griffins outscored the Rams 7-3 the rest of the way, but it would not be enough to deny the home team's victory, 16-13.

Senior midfielder Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, Md.) recorded five goals, an assist, four ground balls, and three caused turnovers atop the Rams box score. She was supported by four points apiece from Morris and sophomore attack Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, Md.), and a three-point performance from sophomore attack Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, Md.). In goal, sophomore Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, Md.) made 11 saves and collected 12 ground balls in the win (10-6).

Keimig's finished as the Griffins top scorer with four goals. She helped the Griffins on the draw, collecting nine restarts in addition to a ground ball recovery. Timony and senior midfielders, Erica Eaby (Lancaster, Pa.) and Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) each recorded two goals, while goalkeepers, freshman Danielle Owen (Glenolden, Pa.) and senior Jennifer Delahanty (Staten Island, N.Y.) split time in net. Owen took the loss (1-5), but Delahanty played the majority of the contest (38:49) and made seven saves.
