Philadelphia, Pa. – (4/5/2013) – Chestnut Hill College traveled down the Wissahickon to Abraham Salaman Tennis Courts for this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Philadelphia University. The Griffins took the opening round of doubles in reverse order and swept singles play as well for a 9-0 victory over the hosting Rams.

Michael Humes (Mount Laurel, N.J.) and junior
Manuel Ceniceros (Mexico City, Mexico) recorded the first point for Chestnut Hill College (13-5, 4-0) with an 8-3 win at number three doubles. Junior
Anthony Moore (Williamstown, N.J.) and freshman
Kevin Taylor (Burlington, N.J.) followed with an 8-4 win at number two doubles, then junior
Yoann Pham (Boulogne-Billancourt, France) and sophomore
Steven Say (Cannes, France) secured an 8-5 win at number one doubles to complete the sweep of doubles play.
The Griffins found the same success in singles with victories coming in each individual flight. Moore was the first to finish, claiming number three singles 6-0, 6-0. Ceniceros and Say were next winning at number six singles, 6-0, 6-4, and number four singles, 6-1, 6-1, respectively. Pham won number two singles 6-2, 6-3, and Taylor won number five singles 6-0, 7-5, while Humes completed the shutout of Philadelphia University (6-9, 1-1) with his 6-4, 6-1 win at number one singles.
The men's tennis team will break from their CACC schedule for a 2:00 p.m. match at Millersville University on Monday, April 8.
