Olivia Gorczynski (Parlin, N.J.) and
Tenisha Townsend-Mobley (Pleasantville, N.J.) kept the Griffins in the lead for the duration of the affair.
The Chestnut Hill College (6-12, 4-7) lead reached double digits twice in the first half, 18-8 at 8:41 and 28-17 at 3:31, but after owning a 34-26 halftime advantage before securing a 15-point win with a 52.0% (13-of-25) second-half shooting percentage. The Griffins shared the load in the first half with Gorczynski, nine points, and Townsend-Mobley, eight points, benefitting most from Bouie's post play; five point and nine rebounds. In the second half, Bouie took matters into her own hands, filling up the box score with ten points, five rebounds two assists, and a block in the frame. The Griffins lead gradually grew to 22 points, 71-49, before a late Wildcat run brought the final spread to 15 points, 78-63.
Sophomore guard Tenicia Spence (Baltimore, Md.) was the Wildcats top performer with 21 points, one rebound, and three assists. She received help from freshman guard Jocelyn Rodriguez (Wilmington, Del.), who provided the Wildcats with eight points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
A New Castle, Delaware, native, Bouie hit 4-of-7 (.571) from the floor and 7-of-9 (.778) from the free throw line to set a new season-high, 15 points, in her second double-double of the season. Gorczynski hit five from downtown, 5-of-12 (.417 3PT), in her team-high, 17-point scoring performance, while Townsend-Mobley offered 12 points, five rebounds, an assist, and a steal to the victory. The women's basketball team will return to Sorgenti Arena for their next CACC contest as 1:00 p.m. tip-off against Dominican College is scheduled for Saturday, February 1.
