Box Score Millersville, Pa. – (11/25/2014) – The early season drama continued tonight for the Chestnut Hill College men's basketball team, who fell by five points or less in their fourth straight contest after this evening's 81-77 overtime loss at Millersville University. Each side won a half by six points with the Griffins owning a 38-32 halftime lead before regulation settled on a 63-63 tie. Offense ruled overtime as sophomore guard
Billy Cassidy (Primos, Pa.) connected on two three-point attempts and a four-point play that gave the Griffins a three-point advantage, 73-70 at 2:36, only for the Marauders to eventually overcome in a five-point final spread.
Chestnut Hill College (0-4) scored the contest's first eight points, 8-0 at 16:21, and did not relinquish the advantage until freshman guard Jerrin Ball (Severn, Md.) knotted the contest at 32-32 with 1:50 left to play in the first half. But Millersville University (2-3) did not score again in the period as a pair of free throws from
Seamus Radtke (Philadelphia, Pa.), 34-32, a quartet of free throws from freshman guard
Demetrius Isaac (Philadelphia, Pa.) put the Griffins ahead six points at intermission, 38-32.

Edward McWade (Wildwood, N.J.) quickly gave the Griffins their largest lead, increasing the advantage to 12 points, 44-32, only 2:41 into the second half (17:19). But by 11:49 the Marauders brought all things even, 46-46, and from there the opponents never separated by more than three points before coming even again after a couple free throws from Marauders freshman guard Sam Light (Jonestown, Pa.) knotted the game with 26 seconds to play, 63-63 at 0:26.
Although Cassidy had the last chance to end the affair in regulation, he was the only thing the Griffins had to offer in overtime. He scored the Griffins first ten points in the extra frame, earning them a 73-70 edge on three straight trifectas, the last including converted visit to the charity stripe. Yet, Chestnut Hill College was still forced to tie the contest at 74-74, before the Marauders escaped on a 7-3 closing run, 81-77.
Senior guard Tyree Smith (Philadelphia, Pa.) led four Marauders in double figures with 21 points. He added nine rebounds and three assists to the effort, which was supported by senior guard Jalen Lester (Odenton, Md.), 17 points, junior forward Eddie Callender (Philadelphia, Pa.), 16 pionts, and junior guard Shawn Williams (Philadelphia, Pa.), 13 points. Callendar added 11 rebounds, two blocks and a steal to his scoring, while Williams dished out eight assists and recorded three rebounds and a steal in addition to his double-digit effort.
The Griffins also offered four scorers in double figures with Walck's 24 points leading the way. He added a team-high six rebounds, an assist, and three steals to his performance, which was complimented by 13 points from Cassidy, 11 from Radtke, and ten from senior forward
Filip Sekulic (Danilovgrad, Montenegro). Radtke and Sekulic each grabbed four rebounds; Radtke also handed out two assists and made two steals while Cassidy additionally provided a rebound, two assists, and three steals.
The men's basketball team looks to get off their opening slide with a victory in the home opener against the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), which is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, November 29.
