Box Score Bridgeport, Conn. – (12/30/2014) – What was a competitive affair at first became a runaway win for the University of Bridgeport, who claimed a 20-point win, 85-65, on a prolific 36-point, nine-rebound performance from Tiara Aziz (Easton, Pa.). Senior guard Shayla Felder (Cheltenham, Pa.) broke out for a season-high 20 points, scoring nearly a third of the Griffins points on a 8-of-16 (50.0%) shooting effort that came with a pair of free throws, a rebound, two assists, and a block.

A balanced first-half led by freshman guard Bianca Adams (Elkins Park, Pa.) left Chestnut Hill College (3-8) a point shy of The University of Bridgeport (), 38-37, who dominated the glass in a 19-point second-half differential. The Griffins went to freshman forward Nicole Parriski (Burlington, N.J.) early, but it was Adams who delivered them their strongest position with the second of her two three-point baskets bringing a 32-26 advantage with 4:03 left in the half. But by the break the Griffins edge had vanished after a pair of free throws from Evelyn Ovner (Vallentuna, Sweden) and four straight points from Jennifer Kucukkaya (Sodertalje, Sweden) spirited the home team on a 12-5 run that left the halftime spread in their favor, 38-37. The second half was a different story with Aziz serving as the predominant player, grabbing six rebounds, and dominating the paint with an impressive 17-of-22 (77.3%) free throw performance. She scored 20 of her 36 points in the second stanza and brought the Purple Knights their largest lead, 23 points (85-62), when sinking a pair of insurance free throws with 23 second (0:23) to go.

Kucukkaya and Jenna Hoffman were the Purple Knights secondary threats with 12 and 13 points, respectively. Kucukkaya added eight assists and four rebounds to her final stat line. Aziz finished the affair with 36 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Felder was assisted by 11 points from senior guard Olivia Gorczynski (Parlin, N.J.) and a versatile performance from Parriski; eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

The women's basketball team returns to their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Saturday, January 3, when they visit Caldwell University for a 1:00 p.m. league match.
