Chestnut Hill College (8-16, 6-11) led for a large majority of the first half, but a late Georgian Court University (3-21, 2-14) push, led by junior forward Tahira Matthews (Bloomfield, N.J.), brought the Lions a one-point lead, 30-29, with 1:40 remaining in the frame. Relentless in pursuit of the basket, Felder drew a foul on the Griffins next possession and cashed in the two free throws to return the home side to the advantage, 31-30, with 0:58 second to go. After a pair of Farrow blocks on the ensuing Lion possession, Gorczynski sent the Griffins to the locker room with a four-point halftime lead, 34-30, on a last-second (0:08) three pointer. In the second half, the Griffin backcourt leadership changed hands as Townsend-Mobley and McDonough escorted the home team to an 11-point lead, 46-35 (13:34), before expanding the deficit to as many as 16 points, 75-59 (0:09), in the final seconds of play.
Matthews did everything for the Lions, dominating their half of the box score with 29 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, a block, and five steals. Her best support came from senior guard Brittany Baker (Waldorf, Md.), who offered eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Gorczynski scored 15 of her 20 points in the first half, hitting three from long range (3-of-9, .333) and three from the free throw line (3-of-9, .333) en route to her team-leading scoring performance (7-of-16, .438 FG). Felder offered 13 of her 17 points in the first half and added two rebounds and four assists to her offensive production. Townsend-Mobley and McDonough each recorded all 11 of their points in the second half and both finished with five rebounds.
