2/22/2014 6:47:00 PM

Box Score Rutherford, N.J. – (2/22/2014) – In today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at Felician College, the Golden Falcons proved too much for Chestnut Hill College, winning the affair by a 66-34 final. Junior guard Olivia Gorczynski (Parlin, N.J.) led the Griffins with 12 points, but a 20.3% (12-of-59) team shooting percentage and a 53-35 rebounding deficit kept the Golden Falcons out of range.

Felician College (6-19, 4-14) wasted little time gaining the upper hand on Chestnut Hill College (8-17, 6-12) as the Golden Falcons secured a 12-point advantage, 22-10, just past the midway point (9:19) of the first half. The Griffins looked to Gorczynski and senior forward Annie Farrow (Ocean Township, N.J.) to slow the home team. The duo made sure the Griffins stayed within ten points, 26-16, for a few minutes (4:41), but the Golden Falcons 46.9% (15-of-32) shooting percentage and 25-13 rebounding ensured a 35-22 halftime advantage. Unfortunately, the Griffins fared no better in the second half as the Golden Falcons gradually extended their advantage to 32 points, 66-34, by the final buzzer.

Double-doubles from senior forward Trina Plummer (West Baylon, N.Y.), 20 points and ten rebounds, and junior forward Ashley Morris (West Orange, N.J.), 15 points and ten rebounds, fueled the Golden Falcons. They benefitted from the backcourt play of senior guards Que Lyles (Bronx, N.Y.) and Gisell Peguro (Brooklyn, N.Y.), who both provided five assists. Lyles also offered eight points, 11 rebounds, a block, and two steals to the win.

Gorczynski scored nine points of her points in the first half and paired her scoring effort with three rebounds and a block. Farrow finished with nine points, six rebounds, and a steal, while
junior guard Tenisha Townsend-Mobley (Pleasantville, N.J.) contributed eight points, seven rebounds, four assists, a block, and two steals.

The women's basketball team concludes the 2013-2014 season on Tuesday, February 25, when they visit Holy Family University for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
