Box Score 2 Lakewood, N.J. – (3/27/2014) – Chestnut Hill College continued their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule today with two afternoon games at Georgian Court University. Sophomores, left fielder

Emily Soller (Bel Air, Md.) and senior first baseman
Giana Cavallo (Turnersville, N.J.) all homered, but the Lions bats proved better taking the first game in five innings, 13-4, and the second in six, 10-2.
Chestnut Hill College (1-13, 1-5) started off the afternoon strong with a lead-off homerun Carney and two-out, two-run homerun from Soller giving the Griffins a 3-0 lead after the first half an inning. Georgian Court University (10-11, 4-0) got one run back in the bottom of the first frame and each side scored once more before an 11-run Lion fourth inning put the first game in the books after five innings, 13-4.
The second game started tight as well, with the Griffins knotting the game at 2-2 with a homerun Cavallo in the second inning and two-out double from freshman center fielder
Ashleigh Sharp (Dresher, Pa.) bringing another run home in the third inning. But the Lions edged back ahead with two runs in the bottom of the third inning, 4-2, and they added three more runs in both the fifth, 7-2, and sixth, 10-2, to end the contest an inning early.
The softball team returns home to host Bloomfield College for a 12:00 p.m. CACC doubleheader on Saturday, March 29.
