Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Philadelphia, Pa. – (4/12/2014) – Chestnut Hill College had no answer for the Dominican College pitching staff as the Lady Chargers limited the Griffins to six hits in today's 10-0 and 6-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) finals. Senior first baseman Giana Cavallo (Turnersville, Pa.) recorded two hits in the opener and sophomore second baseman Julie Heaton (Berlin, N.J.) had two hits and the Griffins lone run-batted-in (RBI) in game two.

Dominican College (9-17, 7-5) was first on the scoreboard as they brought home three runs in the third inning, 3-0, and one in the fourth, 4-0, before six, seventh-inning runs put the game out of reach. Cavallo put an end to the no-hitter with a lead-off double in the fifth inning. She advanced to third base on a pair of ground outs but that was as far as she would get with the inning ending on swing and a miss. Chestnut Hill College (6-18, 6-10) had another chance to score came in the seventh inning with Cavallo reaching second base on a two-out single and a wild pitch.

Things looked to be more competitive at the start of game two with a beanball to freshman center fielder Ashleigh Sharp (Upper Dublin, Pa.) and a one-out double from Heaton cutting the Lady Chargers first-inning lead in half, 2-1. Unfortunately the Lady Chargers added to their lead in the third, 3-1, and fifth innings, 6-1, to complete the conference sweep.

The softball team continues a busy CACC schedule tomorrow, Sunday, April 13, with a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader at Holy Family University.
