Kelly Campbell (Hatboro, Pa.) first evened the fray at 1-1 (29:21) before two Wildcat scores and a strike from freshman midfielder
Lea Sanders (North Merrick, N.Y) left the spread at 3-2, Wildcats. Herbert's first goal tied the game at 3-3 with 16:22 remaining in the first half, but the Wildcats answered with three last four goals for a 6-4 halftime edge. They also scored the first goal of the second half to extend their lead to 7-4 (25:25) and keep the Griffins chasing in a 9-7 defeat.
With eight different scorers, the Wildcats were led by graduate midfielder Penelope Fantis (Fallston, Md.) who totaled two goals and a draw control. Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper Corinne Dries (Bear, Del.) recorded four saves while earning the victory (7-7).
Herbert's three goals were joined by Campbell's two goals and one apiece from Sanders and freshman midfielder
Jacklyn O'Leary (East Meadow, N.Y.). Sanders also recorded an assist and two draws while O'Leary also recovered two ground balls and caused a turnover. Freshman goalkeeper
