Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. - (4/17/2014) – A flurry of early goals left the score slightly in Wilmington University's favor, unfortunately, that is where it stayed as the Wildcats only allowed Chestnut Hill College to tie the game once in a 9-7 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) final. Freshman midfielder Alicia Herbert (Little Egg Harbor, N.J.) led the Griffins effort with her third consecutive hat-trick, her tenth performance with at least three goals.
 
Chestnut Hill College (3-12, 3-6 CACC) traded goals with Wilmington University (7-7, 6-4 CACC) majority of the first half with the Wildcats score first in the opening exchange. Senior attack Kelly Campbell (Hatboro, Pa.) first evened the fray at 1-1 (29:21) before two Wildcat scores and a strike from freshman midfielder Lea Sanders (North Merrick, N.Y) left the spread at 3-2, Wildcats. Herbert's first goal tied the game at 3-3 with 16:22 remaining in the first half, but the Wildcats answered with three last four goals for a 6-4 halftime edge. They also scored the first goal of the second half to extend their lead to 7-4 (25:25) and keep the Griffins chasing in a 9-7 defeat.
 
With eight different scorers, the Wildcats were led by graduate midfielder Penelope Fantis (Fallston, Md.) who totaled two goals and a draw control. Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper Corinne Dries (Bear, Del.) recorded four saves while earning the victory (7-7).
 
Herbert's three goals were joined by Campbell's two goals and one apiece from Sanders and freshman midfielder Jacklyn O'Leary (East Meadow, N.Y.). Sanders also recorded an assist and two draws while O'Leary also recovered two ground balls and caused a turnover. Freshman goalkeeper Katie Joe Lang (Manassas, Va.) took the loss (3-12) with 12 saves.
 
Prior to the start of today's contest the Chestnut Hill College Department of Athletics recognized Campbell, attack Kelsey Moran (Herndon, Va.), defender KarlaAne Klouda (Belvidere, N.J.), and defender Gina Davidson (Philadelphia, Pa.) in annual Senior Night proceedings. The women's lacrosse team will head cross-town on Friday, April 18, to face Philadelphia University in a 4:00 p.m. CACC contest.
