Emily Soller (Bel Air, Md.) each recorded three hits; Soller recorded a sixth-inning three-run homer and two singles to knock in five runs in the affair.
Soller singled in the second inning of the opener, as did senior first baseman
Giana Cavallo (Turnersville, Pa.) in the fourth inning, and sophomore catcher
Sofia Cedrone (Philadelphia, Pa.) in the fifth inning, but Felician College (11-14, 3-7) did not allow a Griffin past second base in the opener.
In game two, Chestnut Hill College (2-14, 2-6) opened up a 6-0 lead before the Golden Falcons had anything to say about it. Sophomore catcher
Megan Kehr (Exton, Pa.) connected for a three-run homerun in the second inning while Heaton and sophomore shortstop
Allie Williams (Warrenton, Va.) brought home runs in the Griffins half of the third and fourth innings, respectively, 5-0. Kehr singled in another run in the fifth inning, 6-0, but the Golden Falcons got scored twice in the bottom of the frame, 6-2, and outscored the Griffins 6-4 in the sixth inning to close the gap to 10-8. The slugfest continued into the seventh inning where the Griffins recorded three hits, a couple walks, and a hit batsman to score five valuable insurance runs in a 15-11 final.
The softball team returns to campus to host Bloomfield College tomorrow, Sunday, April 6, in a 1:00 p.m. CACC doubleheader.
