Chestnut Hill College (4-10, 3-4) went inside early and often, as senior center
Seamus Radtke (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored the hosts' first six points. Radtke was matched by Georgian Court University (3-12, 0-8) freshman guard Juwuan Carter (Paterson, N.J.), who offered his side's first six points as well. Walck caught fire midway through the first half, scoring eight consecutive points – including a pair of deep 3-pointers – to hand the Griffins a 21-13 lead at the 8:14 mark. The Lions made a push, going on a 10-2 run to knot the contest at 23 (5:40) before Chestnut Hill College went into intermission with a 35-30 edge.
The Griffins locked in defensively after the break, forcing nine turnovers and allowing the Lions only three field goals in the first 14 minutes of the period. Chestnut Hill College used a 23-of-29 (79.3%) performance at the foul line to pull away, going ahead by as many as 24, 68-44, on four straight free throws after a Lions technical with 6:33 remaining. That capped a 16-3 push that featured seven points from freshman guard
Demetrius Isaac (Philadelphia, Pa.). Georgian Court University closed the game on a 9-1 run to make the final score more respectable.
Carter ended up with 18 points to lead the Lions pride, adding six rebounds and two assists. Freshman guard Michael Pierre (Melrose, N.Y.), sophomore forward Keith Hughes (Woodbridge, N.J.), and senior forward Jordan Wejnert (Pt. Pleasant, N.J.) each contributed nine points to the cause.
Walck was 8-of-16 (50.0%) from the floor, 3-of-6 (50.0%) from three-point range, and 8-for-10 (80.0%) at the charity stripe on the way to his best scoring performance. He also handed out four assists. Radtke posted 12 points and four rebounds before fouling out late, while sophomore guard
