Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – (1/7/2015) – Heavily out-rebounded (41-29) and mired behind a 52.7%-36.4% shooting deficit, Chestnut Hill College gave the University of the Sciences (USciences) little resistance in a 74-56 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) final. Behind senior forward Garret Kerr (Moorestown, N.J.), the Devils mounted a 15-point halftime advantage that advanced to as many as 22 points before the final five minutes or play. Senior center
Seamus Radtke (Philadelphia, Pa.) came off the bench to lead the Griffins with 17 points, six rebounds, and a steal.
With Kerr totaling 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal in the first half, USciences (11-4, 5-2) gradually separated from Chestnut Hill College (3-10, 2-4). A pair of Kerr free throws first pushed the deficit to double figures, 18-8, at 9:35. But by the time the clock reached 2:36 the Devils added seven more points to the spread with Kerr scoring the first six points of a 15-8 run that left the Griffins down 17 points, 33-16. Radtke answered for the Griffins, scoring twice before the break, 35-20, and keeping the Griffins within those same 15 points, 56-41, on a layup with 8:10 remaining. Unfortunately, that is as close as the Griffins would get with the Devils advantage expanding to 22 points, 64-42, before settling on an 18-point final, 74-56.
Kerr continued his superb play against the Griffins with his seventh double-double in as many contests against the pride. He finished tonight's game with 27 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and a steal. Two other Devils finished in double figures as junior guard Dylan Kerwin (Basking Ridge, N.J.) added 12 points and junior guard Sho Da-Silva (Moorestown, N.J.) came off the bench for 15 points.
Radtke scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half. He added six rebounds and a steal to his final stat line while junior guard
Luke Dickson (Pitman, N.J.) offered ten points, a rebound, an assist, and a steal in support.
The men's basketball team continues their CACC schedule on Saturday, January 10, when they welcome Georgian Court University to campus for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
