12/19/2015 4:42:00 PM

Box Score Albany, N.Y. - (12/19/2015) – Chestnut Hill College continued to battle an early-season road slate behind freshman forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.), who recorded her fourth double-double of the season in today's contest at the College of St. Rose Holiday Classic. Franklin Pierce College was two steps ahead of the Griffins on all fronts, owning a 48-36 rebounding advantage and a 42.9%-32.8% shooting edge to never trail in a 73-49 win.

Franklin Pierce University (4-5) fed off an early stretch of Chestnut Hill College (3-7) turnovers to lead the Griffins by 12 points, 16-4, at 4:30 of the first quarter. Senior forward Kara Charette (Fairhaven, Mass.) was the lead Raven, helping preserve their advantage through the end of the opening frame, 20-13, and an early second-quarter Griffin rally that cut the deficit to a single point, 20-19, on a layup by sophomore forward Nicole Parriski (Burlington, N.J.) at 7:50. But even with junior guard Brittany McDonough (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior forward Lauren Milligan (South Hampton, England) at her side, Wildgoose could not keep the Griffins on pace with the Ravens. They returned the margin to 11 points by halftime, 36-25, and advanced it to as many as 19 points, 50-31, in the third quarter (2:48) and 28 points, 73-45, late in the fourth quarter (2:25) when senior guard Susie French (Greenland, N.H.) added in two of Franklin Pierce University's 31 bench points. Milligan reduced the final spread to 24 points, 73-49, with the Griffins final four points.

The Ravens' bench effort was led by junior forward Alison Palma (Stamford, Conn.) who matched a game-high 17 points from senior guard Natalie Bastian (Branford, Conn.). Palma also recorded eight rebounds and an assist while Bastian added three rebounds and two assists to her scoring. Charette finished with 10 points and five rebounds.

Wildgoose went for 13 points and 13 rebounds in her double-double performance. She was 6-of-14 (.429) from the floor and added a free throw while recording a block for the Griffins. Milligan scored a season-high 14 points in addition to five rebounds and two steals. McDonough generated a good amount of the Griffin offense with five assists and three steals.

The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team continues their stay at the College of St. Rose with a 2:00 p.m. contest against the hosting Golden Knights tomorrow, Sunday, December 20.
