Box Score Newark, Del. - (3/25/2015) – Playing on the road for a fourth straight game, Chestnut Hill College opened its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) slate this afternoon at Wilmington University (Del.). The Griffins played catch-up all day against the high-powered Wildcats, who struck early and often en route to a 19-10 decision. Freshman midfielder Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) recorded a career-high three points with two goals and an assist for the Griffins, who suffered a fourth consecutive loss.

Wilmington University (2-5, 1-1) came out of the gates hot, opening the scoring just 25 seconds after opening draw (29:35) and adding another goal at 27:17, 2-0. Freshman attack Gillian Wixted (Philadelphia, Pa.) pulled one back for Chestnut Hill College (2-5, 0-1) at 25:58, but three unanswered markers by the hosts put them ahead 5-1. The Griffins closed to within 5-3 on the stick of sophomore midfielder Jacklyn O'Leary (East Meadow, N.Y.) and Galantich, whose first tally made it a two-goal game just past the 14-minute mark of the half (13:59).

Two more three-goal runs by the Wildcats separated them for a 12-5 halftime advantage, which became 14-5 after they garnered the first two markers after intermission. Sophomore midfielder Lea Sanders (North Merrick, N.Y.) halted Wilmington University's momentum with a goal off a feed by junior midfielder Emorie Keimig (Freeland, Md.), 14-6 (21:54), but again the hosts thwarted the rally with another spurt, taking a 16-6 lead on a strike by junior attack Sara LeBrun (Bel Air, Md.) at 17:44. Sophomore midfielder Rachel Perry (Gilbertsville, Pa.) scored next, 16-7 (14:58), and the teams traded goals from there, with Keimig hitting twice and freshman midfielder Hunter Leckonby (Charleston, S.C.) capping the day's action in the final minute, 19-10 (0:49).

LeBrun led all scorers with four goals for the Wildcats, while freshman midfielder La'Dae Boykin (Edgewood, Md.) and senior midfielders Ashley Kroll (Baltimore, Md.) and Rebekah McCurry (St. Leonard, Md.) matched her output with four points each; Boykin and Kroll had three goals and an assist, McCurry recorded a pair of both. Senior goalkeeper Corinne Dries (Bear, Del.) stonewalled 11 Griffin shots to earn the win (2-5).

Keimig and Galantich conducted the Chestnut Hill College offense with matching two-goal, one-assist performances, and Wixted and Sanders both collected one goal and one helper. Sophomore attack Samantha Herron (Cinnaminson, N.J.) netted a first-half marker and offered five draw controls, helping the Griffins to a 21-9 edge in that category; Leckonby and Keimig chipped in four apiece. Junior midfielder Courtney Weidner (Philadelphia, Pa.) gobbled up a team-leading six ground balls to lead the defense in front of sophomore Katie Joe Lang (Manassas, Va.), who totaled eight saves in defeat (2-5).
