Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Bloomfield, N.J. - (3/29/2015) – After falling to Bloomfield College by a 5-1 final in the opener of today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader, Chestnut Hill College only managed four walks in the second game, going hitless in seven at-bats of a 7-0 loss. Junior left fielder Nicole Carney (Ontario, Calif.) knocked in the Griffins one run of the afternoon with a fifth-inning, two-out double.

Bloomfield College (13-7, 5-1) took command of the first game after scoring a run with two out in the second inning, 1-0, and plating two on a one-out, third-inning home run from junior right fielder Greta Coleman (Indianola, Wash.), 3-0. They added another run on to their advantage in the fourth inning, as Chestnut Hill College (2-12, 0-6) allowed another run of two-out baserunners to fall behind the Bears by a 4-0 margin. The Griffins broke through the defense in the fifth inning, when a two-out, ground rule double from junior right fielder Francesca Lynn Faillace (Philadelphia, Pa.), a walk to freshman shortstop Koraima Dudley (Levittown, Pa.), and Carney's double pushed a run across, 4-1. Unfortunately, the Griffins final six outs were retried in order, leaving sophomore Briannen Holloway (Corona, Calif.) to the loss (1-4).

The Griffins tried to jump start their offense with walks in the second, third, sixth, and seventh, but only one was allowed to advance past second base as sophomore pitcher Stephanie Miller (Temecula, Calif.) had her whole repertoire working. She struck out nine Griffins in the process of pitching the no-hitter.

The softball team hopes to find their offense at Goldey-Beacom College as they visit the Lightning for a 2:30 p.m. CACC doubleheader on Tuesday, March 31.
