Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Nyack, N.Y. - (4/6/2015) – Despite their continued troubles at the plate, Chestnut Hill College was able to leave Nyack College with a split in today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader. The Griffins won the opener on the clutch hitting of junior catcher Sofia Cedrone (Philadelphia, Pa.), who singled in a run in the first inning and tripled in two more runs in the fifth, before freshman left fielder Jaden Perrillo (Shickshinny, Pa.) broke up a game two no-hitter with her sixth-inning single.

Kim Yano held Chestnut Hill College (5-17, 3-11) hitless for the first 16 outs of game two, only allowing two Griffin baserunners on a first-inning beanball and a fourth-inning walk. In the sixth inning, following one of Yano's four strikeouts, Perrillo ruined the Nyack College (4-17, 2-8) no-hitter with her fourth hit of the season. The Griffins tried to make the most of the opportunity, pinch running with sophomore Ashleigh Sharp (Dresher, Pa.) and advancing her to second base on a passed ball before losing a tag appeal on a fly to right field from junior designated player Megan Kehr (Exton, Pa.). With the opportunity squandered Yano cruised the rest of the way in a 4-0 win (3-7).

The Griffins were not as easily foiled in the opener, scoring in their first at-bat after a dropped third strike on the lead-off appearance of freshman shortstop Koraima Dudley (Levittown, Pa.) and a one-out single from Cedrone, 1-0. The Warriors tied the game with a third-inning solo home run, 1-1, but relinquished the led to the Griffins in the top of the fifth inning when a home fielding error, a sacrifice bunt, and a beaning of junior left fielder Nicole Carney (Ontario, Calif.) set the table for Cedrone, who knocked in two runs with her first extra-base hit of the season, 3-1. The Warriors got one back in the bottom of the frame, but sophomore pitcher Briannen Holloway (Corona, Calif.) prohibited them any success beyond that as she struck out five in her second win of the season (2-6). Junior designated player Laura Eidam (South Salem, N.Y.) recorded the third Griffin hit in the sixth inning.

The softball team returns to campus to host the University of the Sciences in a 3:00 p.m. CACC doubleheader on Wednesday, April 8.
