Philadelphia University (7-4, 3-2) separated from the jump, using the motor of sophomore guard Jessica Kaminski (Philadelphia, Pa.) to grab an early 9-4 (6:32) lead and grow it to a 15-point edge, 28-13, by quarter's end. Chestnut Hill College (5-4, 2-2) looked to the sophomore duo of guard
Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.) and forward
Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) to get them back in contention. But the Lady Rams kept their distance throughout the second quarter, expanding their lead to as many as 18 points, 40-22 (1:27), before a late layup from Wildgoose sent the league rivals to the locker rooms with 16 points between them, 40-24. The Lady Rams got a pair of double-doubles from Kaminski and senior forward Jackie McCarron (Harleysville, Pa.); Kaminski's stood as the more impressive line with 18 points and 11 rebounds supported by five assists and three steals. McCarron added two assists, a block, and a steal in excess of her 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Tumasz was 4-of-8 (.500) from the floor and 2-of-2 (1.000) from the free throw line in her third team-best scoring performance of the season. Wildgoose finished with eight points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
