Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (12/10/2016) – Placing five players in double figures and hitting nearly 50.0% for their shots from long range (11-of-23, .478), Philadelphia University used an early 28-13 first-quarter lead to distance from Chestnut Hill College in this afternoon's 72-51 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) final. Junior Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) came off the bench to lead the Griffin effort with 11 points and five rebounds.
 
Philadelphia University (7-4, 3-2) separated from the jump, using the motor of sophomore guard Jessica Kaminski (Philadelphia, Pa.) to grab an early 9-4 (6:32) lead and grow it to a 15-point edge, 28-13, by quarter's end. Chestnut Hill College (5-4, 2-2) looked to the sophomore duo of guard Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.) and forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) to get them back in contention. But the Lady Rams kept their distance throughout the second quarter, expanding their lead to as many as 18 points, 40-22 (1:27), before a late layup from Wildgoose sent the league rivals to the locker rooms with 16 points between them, 40-24. Unfortunately, the Scarlet and Gold could not close the gap in the second half as the margin reached 22 points, 58-36, by the end of the third quarter and as many as 24 points, 60-36, early in the fourth (8:57).
 
The Lady Rams got a pair of double-doubles from Kaminski and senior forward Jackie McCarron (Harleysville, Pa.); Kaminski's stood as the more impressive line with 18 points and 11 rebounds supported by five assists and three steals. McCarron added two assists, a block, and a steal in excess of her 10 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Tumasz was 4-of-8 (.500) from the floor and 2-of-2 (1.000) from the free throw line in her third team-best scoring performance of the season. Wildgoose finished with eight points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.  
   
The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team returns to Sorgenti Arena on Thursday, December 15, to host Wilmington University in a 6:00 p.m. league affair.
