Kutztown University (2-9) raced out to a seven point advantage (9-2) following an old-fashion three-point play by graduate student Alex Heck (Willow Grove, Pa.). The Golden Bears extended their lead to nine points, 16-7 (6:13), before Chestnut Hill College (7-4) came storming back. The Griffins used a 7-0 run over 2:14 of game time, trimming the deficit just a pair (16-14) with 3:43 remaining in the opening quarter. The Scarlet and Gold then knotted the game at 20 apiece (20-20) following a layup from junior forward Nicole Parriski (Burlington, N.J.) at 1:27, but the Bears repelled the attack, using a pair of late free throws from Heck to put the visitors up 24-20 following one quarter of play.

The Griffins opened the second period on an 8-0 run, capped by back-to-back three pointers from junior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.), putting the hosts up four points, 28-24, at 8:32. The pendulum then swung back in the Golden Bears' favor as a steal and layup from Heck staked them to a six-point, 38-32, lead with 2:53 remaining in the first half. Kutztown University maintained their advantage, with a jumper from freshman guard Sierra Taylor (Williamstown, N.J.) pushing the lead to eight points, (42-34, for intermission.

The see-saw battle continued after the break, with a trifecta from Chestnut Hill College senior guard Brittany McDonough (Brooklyn, N.Y.) putting the hosts up two points, 47-45, with 6:20 remaining in the third quarter. But the Bears answered back, grabbing a narrow 58-54 lead on a Heck jumper with 19 seconds (0:19) left in the frame. Still, the quick-strike offense of the Griffins responded as Trossi found a wide-open Tumasz for a late three-pointer and sent the game into the fourth quarter with the visitors holding a one-point (58-57) advantage .

The two teams went punch-for-punch in the fourth, with a Tumasz free throw knotting the game, 62-62, for the seventh time at 7:47. Kutztown University looked to be pulling away late as a three pointer from senior guard Jenna Altomare (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa.) and another Heck jumper pushed the Golden Bears' lead to six points, 71-65, with 4:20 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Griffins roared back, going on a 9-0 run that afforded them a slim 74-71 lead following a Tumasz three at 1:33. The Golden Bears tried to put the game on ice with a free throw at 0:13, 77-75, but Trossi would not be denied, racing down the floor and making the game-tying layup, 77-77, with seven seconds (0:07) remaining.

Wildgoose put the team on her back early in the overtime period, outscoring the Bears 8-2 over the opening 2:13, and staking the Griffins to a five-point, 85-80 (2:47), advantage. Though the deficit dwindle to one point, 87-86, following an Altomare layup at 1:20. Fortunately, the Griffins did not relinquish the lead, hitting seven of their final eight free throws to clinch the 94-92 victory.

Heck led the Golden Bears' attack, scoring 26 points while adding 14 rebounds and three steals. Senior forward Kelsey Watson (Collegeville, Pa.) also recorded a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Altomare chipped in 17 points.

Trossi's historic triple-double (17 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists) came on 5-of-13 (.385) shooting from the floor and a 7-of-13 (.538) performance from the free throw line. Wildgoose shot 75.0% (12-of-16) from the floor en route to her 27 points.
