Samantha Herron (Cinnaminson, N.J.) just 2:41 into the contest. FIT (2-0) answered a minute later (26:18), but another Keimig tally and a free position goal from junior midfielder
Jacklyn O'Leary (East Meadow, N.Y) raced Chestnut Hill College (0-2) out to a 3-1 advantage. The Panthers again retaliated, evening the score at 3-3 with 9:49 remaining in the half and taking a 5-4 advantage by the seven-minute mark (7:02). But just 32 seconds later (6:30), Herron scored a goal of her own off an assist from sophomore midfielder
Hunter Leckonby (Charleston, S.C.) to even the game at 5-5. At the five-minute mark (5:00), the Panthers reclaimed the edge, 6-5, however the Griffins were not to be outdone as freshman midfielder
Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.) netted a pass from sophomore midfielder
Erica McLaughlin (Magnolia, N.J.) with just 1:44 to play in the period.
The second half was not as competitive as the Panthers rattled off eight straight scores to secure victory. Sophomore midfielder Mary Gormley (Denver, Colo.) scored one of them, sophomore midfielder Sara Grenier (Oakland, Maine) and freshman midfielder Sam Schiano (Perry Hall, Md.) scored two apiece, and sophomore attack Caroline Dunleavy (Annapolis, Md.) scored the other three to power FIT to victory. Grenier and Dunleavy both finished with four goals, while Schiano scored three. She also collected five ground balls, a draw, and three caused turnovers. Sophomore goalkeeper Stephanie Stuart (Palm Coast, Fla.) made five saves in win (2-0).
Leckonby tried to help Keimig turn the tide with six ground balls and three caused turnovers in addition to a goal and an assist. Herron added two ground balls, a draw, and a caused turnover to her two-point effort while junior goalkeeper
Katie Joe Lang (Manassas, Va.) made eight saves in the loss (0-2).
