Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Philadelphia, Pa. – (3/22/2016) – After a 3-1 loss was in the books from game one, Chestnut Hill College sought revenge against East Stroudsburg University in game two. With the contest tied at 1-1 after seven innings, freshman designated player Jordan Clark (Greenwood, Del.) reached home in the eighth inning after advancing to third base on a ground out to second and a sacrifice fly from freshman third baseman Lily Winn (Los Angeles, Calif.) that secured the 2-1 victory for the Griffins.
 
Chestnut Hill College (5-19) found themselves behind East Stroudsburg University (9-4) 3-0 when they came to bat it the sixth inning of game one. Winn put an end to the Warrior shut out in the bottom of the frame when she led off with a single down the left field line and then advanced to third base on a throwing error by the Warrior left fielder, before eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly from senior second baseman Laura Eidam (South Salem, N.Y.), 3-1. Unfortunately, the lone score was not enough to defeat junior pitcher Rachel Liguori (Gaithersburg, Md.) who did not allow an earned run on two hits and three walks. She struck out eight. Her Griffin counterpart, freshman pitcher Nichole Eberhard (Philadelphia, Pa.) took the loss (0-3) despite holding East Stroudsburg University to one earned run on seven hits. She struck out two.
 
During the bottom of the fifth inning in the second game, junior pinch runner Ashleigh Sharp (Dresher, Pa.) scored the contest's first run on a single to right center from sophomore left fielder Jaden Perrillo (Shickshinny, Pa.), 1-0. The Warriors tied the game in the top of the sixth inning when junior pinch runner Erika Gowe (Byram, N.J.) advanced to third base on a wild pitch and then reached home on a two-out single to left field from senior catcher Haley Thomas (Dillsburg, Pa.), 1-1. Without a winner after regulation, the contest moved to extra innings.
 
There, junior Briannen Holloway (Ontario, Calif) retired the Warriors on a pop-up and a pair of strike outs before Clark scored the winning run on Winn's sacrifice fly. Holloway earned the win (3-7), her third in a row, holding the Warriors to a single hit while striking out four in 2.2 innings of relief.
 
The Chestnut Hill College softball team faces Wilmington University tomorrow, Wednesday, March 23, in a 2:30 p.m. Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header.
