Laura Eidam (South Salem, N.Y.) loaded the bases for an run-scoring fielder's choice from junior first baseman
Jenna Long (North Wildwood, N.J.), 2-1, and Carney's two-out triple, 5-1. Denying any thought of a rally, the Griffins added three seventh-inning runs on a two-run Eidam single and a Devil error, 8-1.

Each side scored earlier in game two, this time knotting at 1-1 after the first frame. The difference came in the fourth inning with Eidam's lead-off single triggering a pair of Griffin tallies. She moved to second base on a wild pitch before heading to the bench for a pinch runner. Freshman
Nichole Eberhard (Philadelphia, Pa.) was the fresh pair of legs, she scored immediately on Long single up the middle, 2-1, that was followed by a Devil error, and a successful double steal, 3-1. The Scarlet and Gold again added runs late with three scoring in the seventh inning on singles from Eidam, 4-1, and junior center fielder
