Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Lakewood, N.J. – (4/12/2016) – An 8-0 five-inning victory in the first game put Chestnut Hill College in the right position to pursue the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) sweep, but early Georgian Court University runs led the way to split as they defeated the Griffins in an 8-4 nightcap. Freshman right fielder Ariel Magee (North Cape May, N.J.) recorded five hits (5-for-8) in the twin bill, but it was a five runs-batted-in (RBI) performance from junior shortstop Corie Apodaca (Ontario, Calif.) and the precise pitching of junior Briannen Holloway (Corona, Calif.) that led the Griffins to their game-one victory.
 
Georgian Court University (6-28, 5-11) used a two-out double and an error to score their first run of the second game, 1-0. They scored three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to grab a 4-0 lead before Chestnut Hill College (11-31, 8-10) answered in the top of the fifth inning. A lead-off single to left field from senior left fielder Nicole Carney (Ontario, Calif.), a Lion error, an Apodaca single to center field, and a single to center field from senior second baseman Julie Heaton (Berlin, N.J.) plated the first run of that at-bat, 4-1. It took a fielder's choice from senior third baseman Sofia Cedrone (Philadelphia, Pa.) and a two-out single through the left side from junior first baseman Jenna Long (North Wildwood, N.J.) to score the other two, 4-3. But that was as close as the Griffins would get with the Lions matching their run total in the fifth inning, 7-4, before each side added a sixth inning tally in an 8-5 final.
 
The opener was scoreless through three frames before the Scarlet and Gold separated with a five-run fourth inning and a three-run fifth inning. The fourth inning began with a beaning of senior catcher Megan Kehr (Exton, Pa.) and a single through the left side from senior designated player Lara Eidam (South Salem, N.Y.) before continuing on a one-out single from junior center fielder Ashleigh Sharp (Dresher, Pa.), 1-0, a three-run Apodaca double to right field, 4-0, and a Cedrone single through the left side, 5-0. In the fifth inning, the Griffins greeted a new pitcher with an Eidam single through the left side, a Long walk, a sacrifice bunt, a Carney walk, and a pair of RBI singles from Magee and Apodaca that gave them enough of an edge to end the contest in five frames, 8-0. Holloway pitched the Griffins' first shutout of the season for her sixth (6-12) win of the season. She allowed only four hits while striking out four.
