Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Philadelphia, Pa. – (4/16/2016) – After dropping a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) decision in game one, Chestnut Hill College looked for revenge in the second affair. A lead-off, ground-rule double from senior designated player Laura Eidam (South Salem, N.Y.) knotted the latter contest at 1-1 after two innings, but a four-run Lady Charger fourth inning set the stage for their eventual sweep, 6-1. Senior second baseman Julie Heaton (Berlin, N.J.) record three hits (3-for-6) in the twin bill while junior pitcher Briannen Holloway (Corona, Calif.) kept the Griffins involved in the opener.

Chestnut Hill College (11-37, 8-16) and Dominican College (24-13-1, 16-3) battled through four scoreless frames before the Lady Chargers used a lead-off walk to manufacture a run in the fifth inning, 1-0. They added another tally in the top of the seventh inning, using a two-out single and a triple to left field for a 2-0 advantage. Meanwhile, the Scarlet and Gold put runners aboard in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings, but only moved one into scoring position. That was in the fourth inning, when a lead-off single from junior shortstop Corie Apodaca (Ontario, Calif.), a sacrifice from senior third baseman Sofia Cedrone (Philadelphia, Pa.), and a wild pitch. But a failed sacrifice fly got both batter and runner out in the Griffins' only threat. Sophomore pitcher Desiree Joines (Stewartstown, Pa.) recorded the shutout victory (14-6), allowing only four hits and a walk while striking out 10. Holloway took the loss (6-14) despite holding the Lady Chargers to two runs on six hits and a walk. She struck out four.

A second-inning lead-off double got the Lady Chargers on the scoreboard first in game two as well, 1-0. This time, the Griffins responded in the bottom of the frame with a lead-off, ground-rule double from Eidam, a wild pitch, and a one-out double to left center field from junior center fielder Ashleigh Sharp (Dresher, Pa.), 1-1. Unfortunately, five Lady Charger hits and a Griffin error allowed the visitors to score four runs in the fourth inning, 5-1. They added their last run in the seventh inning with a one-out single to third base, 6-1.

The Griffins briefly break from their CACC schedule to travel to Millersville University on Thursday, April 21, for a 6:00 p.m. doubleheader.
