Chestnut Hill College made their strike in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to seven points, 67-60, before the Cougars reaffirmed their position in a 92-75 final. Four Griffins finished in double figures; senior forward Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, N.Y.) led the quartet with 19 points and three rebounds.

Caldwell College (13-3, 8-0) made their opening move at the seven-minute mark (7:00) of the first quarter, using a pair of Chestnut Hill College (9-6, 5-4) turnovers to gain a 10-5 (6:12) advantage. From there, the spread slightly fluctuated before a late free throw and a last-possession three point basket distanced the home team by 11 points, 30-19, by quarter's end. The Cougars used the momentum to expand the deficit to as many as 17 points, 38-21 (8:52), early in the second quarter. But, the Griffins kept the affair in contention, capitalizing on a pair of missed Cougar three point attempts to return the difference to 11 points, 45-34, four minutes (4:18) before the halftime buzzer sounded on a 49-37 home front.

A slow start to the second half was the chink in the Cougars' armor as the Scarlet and Gold made progress from the inside out. Chestnut Hill College first established sophomore forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) in the post before locating Kuhnen and junior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) on the wings. The result was a 16-9 run that left the Griffins down five points, 58-53, with four minutes (4:01) remaining in the third quarter. After a brief delay, the Scarlet and Gold rally resumed in the fourth quarter, where a layup from sophomore guard Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.) reduced the spread to just three points, 67-64, with 8:21 remaining. Unfortunately, the Cougars concluded the affair on a 25-11 stretch that left the final deficit at 17 points, 92-75.

Junior guard Kristen Drogsler (Middle Village, N.Y.) led all scorers with 24 points. She also provided the Cougars with nine rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and a steal. Drogsler got help from junior forward Karlie O'Driscoll (Sharon, Mass.) and junior guard Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, Mass.), who both matched her nine-rebound effort. O'Driscoll added 16 points, two blocks, and a steal to her rebounds while Sanders totaled 11 points, six assists, a block, and four steals in excess of hers. Sophomore guard Rachel Simon (Wallkill, N.Y.) came off the bench for some perimeter shooting, she hit four (4-of-6, .667) from long range to finish the contest with 21 points.

Kuhnen hit two (2-of-3, .667) from long range in a 7-of-14 (.500) shooting effort. She was also one of one of four Griffins to hit three free throws (3-of-4, .750) in the contest. Wildgoose and
Trossi both finished with 11 points while Tumasz offered 18 points off the bench. Wildgoose paired her offense with five rebounds and Trossi complimented hers with five assists.
