Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (1/14/2017) – A competitive contest from tip to buzzer, today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) affair versus Bloomfield College offered plenty of entertainment for all in attendance. Chestnut Hill College evened a 38-37 halftime deficit by the end of the third quarter, 57-57, and appeared to have the win in hand after a layup from sophomore guard Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.), 72-71 (0:07). Unfortunately, there was enough time for senior guard Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) to steal the conference victory for the Bears, taking the ball the length of the court for the 73-72 final. Freshman forward Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.) led three Griffins in double figures with a career-high 17 points, three rebounds, two blocks, and a steal.

Sophomore forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) was a consistent producer for Chestnut Hill College (9-7, 5-5), leading a balanced effort that kept the Griffins just a point shy of Bloomfield College (10-5, 7-1) at halftime, 38-37. The Scarlet and Gold got out to the early lead and led all the way in a first quarter where their advantage reached 10 points, 14-4, at the three minute-mark (2:59). The duo took 25 of Bloomfield College's 40 first-half shots, evening the spread, 27-27, with 2:41 remaining and helping sophomore forward Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, Nev.) secure the Bears a one point, 38-37, lead for halftime.

In the third quarter, the visitors remained a step ahead of Griffins with the score knotting three times early and once more at the end, 57-57. Bloomfield College grabbed the upper hand in the concluding frame, scoring the period's first two baskets, 61-57 (7:39), and separating by three points, 71-68, on a Smith three pointer at 0:52. That set the scene for the dramatic conclusion, which saw Glenn knock down two free throws with 44 seconds (0:44) to go, 71-70, and Trossi seize the lead, 72-71 (0:07), with her clutch rush to the bucket. But seven seconds was too many for Smith, who when baseline to baseline for the game winner, 73-72 (0:01).
