Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (1/17/2017) – With their fellow students back on campus and rooting them on from the packed bleachers of Sorgenti Arena, Chestnut Hill College got back in the win column thanks to tonight's 85-78 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) triumph over Holy Family University. The Griffins completed the season sweep of their cross-city rivals with a balanced attack that featured four players in double figures; sophomore guard
 Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.) and freshman forward 
Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.) were the leaders among the quartet with 18 points apiece.
 
A frantic and chaotic opening settled into a 15-9 first-quarter lead for Chestnut Hill College (10-7, 6-5), who used early and late second-quarter runs to lead by 11 points, 29-18, at 5:47 and at halftime, 40-29. Glenn was the primary target for the Griffins, totaling 11 first half points on the strength of three, three point (3-of-4, .750) baskets. Holy Family University (5-13, 5-5) retaliated behind senior forward Abigail Iannotti (North Bennington, Vt.) and sophomore forward Katie O'Hare (West Chester, Pa.), who combined for 18 of the Tigers' 29 points in the first half.
 
By the end of the third quarter the Scarlet and Gold advantage reached 17 points, 63-46 (0:58). It maxed out at 19 points, 69-50, less than a minute (9:08) into the fourth quarter thanks to the perimeter play of junior guard
 Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.), who hit three, three pointers (3-of-3, 1.000) in the period. The Tigers were able to make the final respectable, 85-78, outscoring the Griffins 28-16 the rest of the way. But it was never truly close as the Scarlet and Gold still held a double digit advantage, 80-70, heading to the final minute (0:53) of play.
 
Holy Family University offered five players in double figures. Iannotti's game-high 20 points led the way. She also recorded 12 rebounds, four assists, a block, and four steals. Freshman guard Casey Schweitzer (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) finished with 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, a block, and four steals. O'Hare totaled 14 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal, while sophomore center Casey Thomas (Hammonton, N.J.) and senior guard Jill Conroy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed 12 points apiece. Thomas added 10 rebounds to her dozen points while Conroy provided 10 assists in excess of her offensive production. In all the Tigers offered three double-double efforts.
 
Glenn posted a career-high scoring effort for the second straight game with her 18-point performance. She added four rebounds, three assists, two block, and two steals for a tremendous two-way game. Meanwhile, Trossi's 18 points came with a team-high eight rebounds and a team-high seven assists. Senior forward 
Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, N.Y.) was the third Griffin starter in double figures with her 14 points. Both she (4-of-7, .571) and Tumasz (4-of-7, .571) hit four, three point baskets. Tumasz finished with 17 points off the Chestnut Hill College bench. It was her ninth effort of ten points or more as a reserve; she also provided five rebounds and three steals.
 
The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team continues their CACC schedule a week from today, on Tuesday, January 24, when they visit Philadelphia University for 6:00 p.m. contest.
