th minute (48:18) of today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. Unfortunately, after the first Tiger tally the second came less than three minutes later (51:14), and a third just 38 seconds (89:22) before the final horn, 3-0. Junior midfielder
Macailagh Smith (Red Bank, N.J.) accounted for both of the Griffins' shots, the first coming just before the 50-minute mark (49:59) and the second just after the 81-minute mark (81:12).
The Holy Family University (9-2, 6-1) shot advantage began to weigh on Chestnut Hill College (1-9, 1-6) just after the 24-minute mark. Senior goalkeeper
Meghan Guagenti (Pennsauken, N.J.) kept the Tigers at bay through intermission, but at 48:18 junior midfielder Brianna Rock (Bensalem, Pa.) found freshman forward Cailey Palth (Philadelphia, Pa.) for the home team's first goal of the affair. At 51:14, Rock scored a goal of her own on a loose corner restart, 2-0. That Tiger lead held until the final minute of the affair, when freshman forward Alexa Teschko (Clayton, N.J.) completed a lead pass from freshman defender Natalie Acker (Delran, N.J.) at 89:22, 3-0.
Rock led the Tigers with six of their 29 shots. Freshman goalkeeper Emily Camp (Pittsgrove, N.J.) totaled one save in the win (8-2). For the Scarlet and Gold, Guagenti made seven saves in the loss (1-5).
The Chestnut Hill College women's soccer team competes next on Saturday, October 7, when they visit Bloomfield College for a 1:00 p.m. CACC contest.
