Box Score Lakewood, N.J. - (2/7/2017) – Chestnut Hill College was stalled off the tip of this evening's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest, but by the seven-minute mark (7:11) of the first quarter the Griffins overcame Georgian Court University, 8-7, on a jumper from senior forward Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, N.Y.). From there the Scarlet and Gold never looked back, leading 26-19 at the end of the opening frame, 50-37 at halftime, and 92-78 by game's conclusion. Kuhnen (14 points) was one of six Griffins in double figures; a group that was led by junior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) in points – with 19 – but led in direction by sophomore guard Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.) who offered her second triple-double of the season with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Senior guard Alliyah Berger (Washington, DC) was the Lions' leading performer with 24 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Four others finished in double figures for Georgian Court University; the group included a pair of 14-point efforts from junior guard Jaelyn Tweedy (Richmond, Va.) and sophomore forward Destiny Thompson (Bridgeton, N.J.), and twin 10-point offerings from sophomore guard Jada Atchison (Burlington, N.J.) and freshman guard Kaitlyn Lister (Tomas River, N.J.). Thompson completed her double-double with 14 rebounds while Atchison did the same with 13 assists.

Trossi, who recorded the first women's basketball triple-double in Chestnut Hill College (14-8, 9-6) and CACC history in a 94-92 overtime victory over Kutztown University on December 17 (17 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists), pulled off the feat in regulation this time. She was an efficient scorer, totaling her 11 points on 4-of-7 (.571) shooting and a 3-of-4 (.750) performance at the free throw line. She grabbed seven of her 10 rebounds on the defensive end and made three steals to keep the Chestnut Hill College offense on the fastbreak. Her generosity helped put five others in double figures. Tumasz was chief among them with 19 points in addition to her seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Kuhnen offered 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal, while freshman forward Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.) provided 18 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Sophomore forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) was the sixth Griffin in double figures with 10 points. She also recorded three rebounds, and an assist.

Chestnut Hill College returns to Sorgenti Arena on Saturday, February 11, when they host Concordia College (NY) for a 1:00 p.m. CACC, Senior Day contest. The event will also serve as an open house for Martin Luther King Jr. High School and welcomes Pennsylvania State Senator Art Haywood as a special guest.
