Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. - (3/20/2017) – While serving as the away team at Victory Field #1, Chestnut Hill College broke into the win column this afternoon, simultaneously earning their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory of the season, 18-8, over Holy Family University. After allowing the first goal of the contest, the Griffins launched a 7-3 run to halftime that separated them for the eventual 10-goal triumph. Senior midfielder Jacklyn O'Leary (East Meadow, N.Y.) was center stage in the Scarlet and Gold win with six points (five goals and one assist), a ground ball, and a caused turnovers.

Junior midfielder Hunter Leckonby (Charleston, S.C.) triggered the Chestnut Hill College (1-5, 0-1) separation, scoring the Griffins' first goal against Holy Family University (0-5, 0-1) off the feed from junior attack Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) at 27:23 of the first half (1-0). From there, the Scarlet and Gold issued three consecutive goals – the last two coming from O'Leary – to establish a 4-1 advantage. A pair of goals from sophomore midfielder Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) brought the Tigers back within one, 4-3, at 14:34 and her third goal kept them there, 5-4, just past the eight-minute mark (7:59). Fortunately, Chestnut Hill College answered that tally with two of their own – Leckonby off the feed from sophomore midfielder Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.) at 4:31 (6-4) and junior midfielder Erica McLaughlin (Magnolia, N.J.), unassisted, at 2:59 - to own a 7-4 halftime edge.

The Griffins turned it on at the start of the second half, controlling the pace of play to capture a 14-5 lead before the 20-minute mark (20:09). Senior attack Lea Sanders (North Merrick, N.Y.) was the spark, scoring four goals in the Scarlet and Gold's 7-1 run. That streak eventually became an 11-4 second-half discrepancy in the Griffins' favor. Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper Katie Joe Lang (Manassas, Va.) (1-5) made history, recording her 500th collegiate save (27:13) with her first stop of the latter period. She finished the game with nine saves in all, two ground balls, and a caused turnover.

Felix led the Tigers with four goals, one ground ball, and four draw controls. Senior attack Nicole Mansi (Turnersville, N.J.) contributed two goals and an assist, while junior goalkeeper Raquelle Williams (Brighton, Mich.) (0-5) totaled a dozen (12) saves.

O'Leary had plenty of support on the offensive end. Sanders added two ground balls and two draws to her four goals, which leave her just six scores shy of 1,000 for her collegiate career. Furthermore, Leckonby, Galantich, Reinert, and freshman midfielder Spencer Fitzgerald (Huntingtown, Md.) each provided two goals; Galantich additionally recorded eight ground balls, three draws, and a caused turnover while Reinert added two assists to her scores. Senior attack Samantha Herron (Cinnaminson, N.J.) contributed two assists, two ground balls, five draws, and a caused turnover.

The Chestnut Hill College women's lacrosse team temporarily breaks from their CACC schedule to visit the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) for an 11:00 a.m. contest on Saturday, March 25.
